There are a lot of good reasons not to open carry, and a lot of good reasons to talk more people into carrying concealed. The more concealed carry taking place, the more criminals will be scared of armed bystanders popping up and the more it will disincentivize crime.

Even so, IMO legalizing open carry is a good thing, if only to keep the cops from arresting people who accidentally "print" (show they're carrying).

I open carry around my own property because it's rural and it's mine. But, that said, I carry concealed out amongst the folks, partially just to be polite (lets face it, some people are just never, ever, going to be comfortable around firearms because it highlights how helpless they have made themselves), and because the entire idea of concealed carry is to increase doubt in the mind of the criminal. If they don't know for certain who might be heeled and who isn't, (and it could be anybody) it raises the potential "opportunity costs" of doing crime, and they have to fear what they don't know.

The violent criminal has a script running in his head, like a movie starring himself, of how he thinks the events will transpire.
The sudden and unexpected production of a firearm by the intended victim should always come as a big fucking surprise. Like a magic trick.
It disrupts his internal narrative and once you've done that, he has no "plan B".

You can always open carry as bait and conceal carry once they've taken it.

This retards mistake was letting the kid wrestle the gun from him, then chasing him down while the kid was armed with his stolen weapon. Situation would have gone very differently if you exercised your rights with your secondary sidearm.

This is just half of it. When you open carry you make yourself the first target of any shooter. Open carry works for cops because they are there to have a deterrent effect (even still niggers sometimes take their firearms).

It's weird that in Texas Felony Murder is like a lower charge of murder where they don't have to prove as much. In Georgia, I believe felony murder is murder committed while committing a felony, so it's a more serious charge. It always throws me when they say it though.
