Considering the Hebrews conquered their Canaanite cousins after they sacked and booked it out of Egypt, I doubt they're Canaanites either. Given what I've read of vets descriptions of Kurdish behavior, the DNA evidence saying they're related, and the rabid hostility their neighbors have for them, I'm inclined to say that's what they are most likely and have always been, international Kurd's.
