Don't read to much into it, I've been in the business responding to train derailments for decades, sometimes handling as many as 3 derailments simultaneously (obviously different rail lines)...a car load of spics going off the road and taking out a natural gas metering station doesn't make the news but a mile long train going off the track makes headlines worldwide....there's not much keeping a train on the track other than it's weight and a wheel flange of less than 2 inches (11/2")...
