Far-left Irish politician writes in left-wing Irish publication to criticise anti-immigration protests. The comments are revealing (more so if you’re aware of how left leaning their readership and commentators usually are)

There have been growing anti-immigration protests in Ireland over the past few months. It really started in East Wall in Dublin with establishment and media dismissing it as a racist, far-right minority. It’s now grown too big to be ignored any longer, so the commies are starting to try and counter the movement. This is one of the commies, writing in one of the commie rags, to a usually very receptive commie audience. Even the lefties seem to be abandoning this nonsense and sympathising with the anti-immigration protestors. Hope can be a dangerous thing, but I fear I may be beginning to hope.

Could happen here yet. Some of the more right wing parties that have formed here over the past few years are gaining pretty strong traction through these protests. It’s not unusual for political parties here to have paramilitary wings so one of those parties might go down that route in future if they’re not seeing results from the ballot box alone. I get the feeling they want to build up stronger political support before going down that route though, so might be after the local elections next year or the general election the following year, depending on results obviously.

Political support doesn’t necessarily have to translate into electoral success. If the support is there pressure can be applied to achieve particular political goals. Sinn Fein, who are now the main opposition party in our parliament, didn’t even take part in elections until the 1980s, preferring instead to focus solely on their paramilitary campaigns. The party split when they started participating in elections, and the breakaway group still don’t participate in elections to this day but maintain their paramilitary wing. These kind of violent politics are probably more effective in smaller countries like Ireland than large ones like the US though, although FARC have done similar in Colombia and their population is over 50 million.

I have been following this topic on and off. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Enraging to think tiny little Ireland is just expected to submit to hordes of immigrants because it would be "racist" not to.

It would be lovely to think this is the beginning of anti-immigration sentiment that will sweep not only Ireland, but the entire Western world.

What drives me maddest is to see how different guilt tactics are used in different countries to achieve the same ends. So in the likes of Britain, France etc. they’re told they have to accept the hordes to make up for their evil colonial past. But that can’t be applied to Ireland, so we’re told we have to accept the hordes because so many of our own were forced off the land historically due to colonialism. It’s the epitome of speaking from both sides of the mouth (and also completely ignores the fact that if I’m born and bred in Ireland then it obviously wasn’t my people who fled, we’re the descendants of those who stood and fought, but we must make amends for those that ran away). All jewish bullshit.

They use the "empathy with the oppressed" line in Australia (for those of us of Irish descent), as well as evil invaders.

They never question why the poor abos should be subsequently invaded by Chinese and Africans!

The Irish as victims narrative is rather incorrect anyway. Or at least incomplete. They were foot soldiers of the British Empire. A fact often forgotten.

There is definitely a brain worm infecting some Irish minds though. Look at this faggot -

The end of the video predicts what will happen if this doesn't stop.

Yeah. In the US among whites Irish Catholics are even one of the most Democrat leaning. Southern New England of course being where it's at. Hayden is maybe the guy though most associated with what you are speaking of.

And there are always at least two sides to every story. Cromwell for example. The Irish were in rebellion against central authority and were assisting Royalists against his revolutionary government. Ireland was effectively a Royalist base that had to be neutralized for the good of the revolution.

The people doing this are very skilled in the art of manipulation. The UK government released a couple of papers in the last decade on ‘nudging’ and how to manipulate the populations opinion to achieve their desired outcome. Until people are aware of these psychological operations society has no chance.

Whenever you start to hope, always check that you haven't simply slipped into delusion.

Ooh sounds dangerous. Maybe they should stay in their own countries where there's no racism!
