I feel the same way. I do remember hearing a youtuber say that their videos get bumped higher in the algorithm the more trash they put in those thumbnails. So basically more cringe = more money.

Don't watch that shit.

Lost my list of 300 channel subs when banned, but about 50 of them were excellent. Like the Northmen channel is about northern Russian life. There was an associated channel (lost) about the same area, about far northern Russian orthodox communities. A bunch more I've forgotten after a few years. RIP.

A lot of the good channels fly below the radar, and are not some head talking about politics or popular culture. Get out there in the weeds and find them.

If you still have a youtube account and ever commit wrongthink, go copy your subs and other data elsewhere now, because it's all gone when your ban comes down. I was watching a livestream of Nicky Rackets when the ban landed.

Thanks! Wow, now I'm not sure if I want to go back to the video life, even as cool/interesting/informative as my best channels were. I couldn't watch it all then, and now I struggle to keep up with comment replies, not to mention gaming and general browsing.
