Boy, they REALLY want to drive off customers.

It seems not that long ago when theatres were trying to make the experience more pleasant in order to attract customers rather than drive large portions of them away, but clown-world is a very HONK place.

I took the wife to the theater not all that long ago and after seeing the price, she would rather go to the restaurant and get burgers and a couple rounds of good beers for the same price. So we did.

Previously this was illegal.
Now we have vertically integrated propaganda machines in every city.

On the upside, ALL movies are so terrible these days, that the annoying teenager commentary is some of the best experience of going to a theatre. Last stupid movie we say was slghtly improved by some stoned "teens" behind us. If the movie had been at all interesting or worth watching we might've been annoyed, but they actually helped! [it was one of those fucking inane disney star-wars movies].

I've been to cinemas in Germany many years ago where that was very common. And remembering my dad telling me stories about his cinema experience, there has always been cheap seats at the front.
