I thought about this and you're absolutely right. You don't necessarily need an AI trained for CP and you don't have to try and fake it by training a single AI for both. Just use 2, one trained for porn, and one for kids. If both alert on the same image then you know to delete it and take appropriate action on the user.

The more I think about this I really don't envy people who run image hosting sites. I've never seen actual CP aside from the borderline stuff that ends up on imageboards sometimes. I'd like to keep it that way. Those guys must see it often enough just keeping it off their sites and you know the bad ones stick in their heads. You can't erase a memory.

Content uploaded to catbox -> catbox sees it's an image -> sends it to an API which evaluates and returns a true/false or a true/false with a score if they want to do moderation. Charge a buck per 1000 images or something.

There is no 100% solution. Unless you are using one of the available screening services, it WILL be a problem. This is why websites and news sites are closing comment sections. It's too expensive to police except for the biggest entities. Anyone not doing this is just a time bomb for a lawsuit and jailtime.

And being a hotlinking service, a reporting feature would be less than ideal, given the complexity of copypasting the offending URL and navigating to the reporting page, and also considering the laziness of your average user.
Although I can envision a browser extension, such as archive.today's, where one could submit the link directly via the right-click menu.

The only alternative is to archive a private link from imgur and upload the archive, so it doesn't matter if imgur takes it down. However, many web archive sites do not archive video for free, which is why sites like catbox have to be used as there is no alternative. The only exception to this rule is uploading links from a personal website.
