Book 2 of the Well Tempered Klavier: Prelude and fugue no. 12 in F minor BWV 881

I usually prefer the piano, put this instrument has a lovely tone. Also Christine Schornsheim played very precisely, avoiding the problem that the sharp attack of the harpsichord makes tiny errors of timing into unmusical raggedness. Plus skillful baroque ornaments that are fun and cool.

Such a beautiful piece. The Well Tempered Clavier is a very enjoyable album of compositions, beginning with a very easy piece most keyboard students start with because it's all arpeggiated. I also prefer Bach on the piano (Glenn Gould did a wonderful job with the WTC), but I agree, the instrument is beautiful and Christine Schornsheim plays with delicacy and control.

I played this, and instantly the cat in my lap turned her ears and head towards it and began paying a lot of attention. Then she started purring - very loudly.

Love this stuff.

Bach = You can skip to any random time and can't tell whether you skipped half a measure or half the piece.
