Adrien Carton de Wiart, The unkillable soldier: one of the most courageous human beings to ever live. He served in the Boer War, WW1 and WW2, severely injured on several occasions but always fought to get back to the front lines.

What an interesting article. This man served in the Boer War, World War One and World War Two, in the process he was shot in the face, losing his left eye, and was also shot through the skull, hip, leg, ankle and ear…He was awarded the Victoria Cross for his “bravery, coolness and determination during severe operations of a prolonged nature”. At 60 years old he became a POW, and despite his age and previous injuries, he still made several attempts to escape, successfully at one point, he had escaped for a total of 8 days in a foreign land where he didn’t know the language. This article is well worth a read, what an inspiring and courageous human being.

Refer to my reply above this comment, it applies to what you and “Ifuckedyermum” both said. I hear what you are both saying, it’s just not the point of the post. Showing respect and admiration for White warriors this tough isn’t ever a bad thing, regardless of whatever side of a conflict they fought on.
