A man tried hiring a “killer,” who was really an undercover FBI agent, to murder his wife and her new boyfriend, federal prosecutors said. Mohammed Chowdhury, 46, of Boston told undercover agents, acting as the hired killer and their associates, that he wanted them to rob and beat the pair so authorities wouldn’t suspect him, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts.

It was probably the FBI who seduced his wife, let the husband know, convinced him he should do something serious about it, then offered to clean up the problem.

I don’t think the article implied he knew, meaning she was just cheating on him and he found out and got pissed.

I mean if your SO was cheating on you with someone long term, but you didn’t know about it, that doesn’t mean they can’t call each other boyfriend/girlfriend
