Talk is a retarded name

Most web sites censor links. Reddit, disqus, twitch, etc. Linking to this site doesn't work. But people can openly recommend gab. We used to be able to recommend voat. These are easily identifiable names that can lead people around. Telling people to join talk will go nowhere.

Why is a .com so important? What is wrong with voat.xyz?

While this isn't the same voat, it has a lot of the same crowd and values and a search will lead here.

How does one find something with a generic name like "talk"?

Some of the other tlds are either expensive or might have weird rules or registrars you might not want to deal with.

Not sure his exact reason but that's my guess.

Are you saying we're blacklisted? A name change doesn't fix that, they would then blacklist the new name and we'd have some of our... more "unique" users like AryanPrime hitting f5 all day waiting for talk to come back.

Links in general are black listed. Links usually get accounts flagged for spamming. Reddit and other sites especially are known to run blacklists on competitors. Ruqqus for example could not be linked but the name is recognizable.

So you're saying you want a name that can be mentioned casually without linking to it, and talk is too common of a word and too hard to find that way?

Our voat.xyz domain still works so no reason you can't just say voat.
