Get a knife the length of your liking, make sure it's sharp, you can deploy the blade quickly, and the handle is comfy.

The Mossberg is still really new, and it's their first foray into pistols. I've heard good things about it, but a littlw more time should better tell.

Kel-Tec is one of those brands you just have to try for yourself because they're so damn polarizing and QC can be spotty on some of their guns. I personally like them, and have their KSG and RDB. The KSG needed breakin plus fluff n' buff to run smoothly, but I trust my life with it now. The RDB broke its hammer on a dry fire, which is really uncommon but documented. Kel-Tec construction is the epitome of Zytel clamshell with a shitload of screws and nifty engineering. I have a dog in this race, and call them range toys. However, I've had friends with their pistols and they were generally well-received.

Edit: I'll get back to you on links. Been up for 32hrs and run haggard. I'll get up again sometime tonight.

I carry a pistol most of the time, but I always have my Benchmade knife. It was issued to me when I went to Afghanistan to protect the poppy fields, fuck globalist warmongerers....Anyway I love my knife

Get ya an automatic knife. I'm a fan of Kershaw knives, I own three of them, but it doesn't matter what brand it is as long as you're comfortable with the grip and you can deploy the blade quickly.

Knives are terrible self defense weapons, however. You can just as easily fuck yourself up as you can someone else.

Something to be said for @PeckerwoodPerry 's advice - Nearly all automatic knives have some "play" in the blade once deployed, meaning you can wiggle them a little up and down against the handle.

Kershaw OTF (out the front) autos are the only brand I have seen that do not have this issue.
