If most braced pistols have a barrel under 16", and the ATF mandates registering them, thus converting them into SBRs, doesn't that fall under the right to plead the fifth?

Seems like the ATF shot themselves in the foot with this distraction.
Or maybe I'm just misunderstanding something.

My personal belief is "render unto caeser what is caesers."
In other words if you think you owe the SBR tax stamp, then register and pay it. However if you don't believe you owe $200 for something which is patently not an SBR, and for which the government already explicitly said so--if you don't believe you owe it, then none of us will fault you for standing up and refusing on principle.

I’m hoping this is like the overturned bump stock b.s. and starts undoing the ATF completely. But that is some major hopium. Most likely (((they)) just wanted to make 40-80million Americans felons

Was the bump stock ban overturned? I thought it went into effect. I haven't seen bumpstocks sold anywhere since.

Any judge will say it is the owners responsibility. Care or don't, the judge has his doctrine.
