why does this shitty fucking site not save the right spot in the feed when I click back? why the fuck do I have to click back 2-3 times after commenting in a thread

Why do the message inboxes not have a way to show unread messages only? My inbox has always shown there are unread messages. God. Fucking. Damn. Fix this shit

because the code that executes when clicking the "Post Comment" button dumps the comment to storage, then reloads the page with your new comment. it is an older method (i.e. 1995) of coding.
newer methods use AJAX and just reload only the comment section of the page. this keeps the main page loaded so only a single-click would be needed to go back to the previous page rather than clicking back multiple times.

It creates a new page every time you post a comment.

So if you view a thread without commenting, one click will take you back.

If you reply once, you'll have to click twice to get back.

If you reply five times, you'll have to click six times to get back.
