There are large chunks of the rural US which went to NatGas for heat back in the 70s. They were largely wood-heated before that. The banning of gas stoves isn't about gas stoves. Growing up in Germany we had gas stoves. Back then it was still very common, no idea about these days. I very much prefer gas stoves as it gives me more control of heat. Turn the gas off and the heat is gone, with electric the heat stays in the element for so long. I find it much easier to burn food on electric stoves compared to gas. I haven't had a chance to cook with an induction stove yet, supposedly those are very efficient and quick in heating and stop heating immediately when turning off.
They are trying to make more money, period. Natural gas is way more efficient than electricity. Electrical production loses 75-80% of it's original carbon form energy by the time it gets to your house. Nobody can burn gas at home? Big oil and gas can increase profits by sending 75% of the energy up the smokestack and turning it to heat at a sub-station. Tldr; fuck you pay me.
