Apparently Some Zoomers Think Anyone Born Before 2000 Is a Boomer

My car has been in the shop since Tuesday and I have to take the bus to get to work until it's fixed. The bus sucks - It's always late when I'm in a hurry, and always early when I'm late. Thankfully it's not crowded during the times I get to and from work.
On my ride to work today, I got on the bus and about 6 nog high schoolers were sitting in the back of the bus joking around and being loud as fuck, I overheard a quick convo about one of their cousins - one of the nogs said "hey ain't your cuz like 25 years old" and the other one said "yeah he's a boomer. Anyone born in the 20th century is a boomer".
Welp, I guess millennials are boomers now.
I'm not even 35 and it made me feel old. The time from when I graduated high school til now only feels about 10 years and I still look like I'm in my mid 20s.
Has time sped up the past 60 years or so?

Was at a party and B-52's came on. Somebody's daughter in high school commented to friends that this was the "oldies."

Shocked but made sense after I gave it some thought.

The Beatles were just as old to me at 18 as Oingo Boingo is to them now. I suppose it's only the oldies radio stations that will even dedicate blocks of 80s now. On satellite radio/ sirius the 80s is only 2 channels away from 60s, so probably starting to bunch altogether for them. Won't be long before some zoomer calls 90s the oldies.


The boomer hate is propaganda to shift blame instead of owning your own situation. In other words: a topic for people that regularly ride the bus.

As a hobby musician that grew up on the same music, it really is a lot more technical, and requires more talent then a lot of music produced nowadays, and definitely better then listening to nigger shit.

Metal has jazz influences, the time signatures, and other aspects/nuances of metal make it something to appreciate. It’s definitely a lot more complicated to play ability wise or create production wise then you might think at first glance, a lot of extremely talented and gifted people in the scene, weather you like the end resulting noise or not. To see music evolve in metal, and all genres In general is something that is interesting regardless of our thoughts on any particular genre. I do think there is some cognitive dissonance going on with myself as I’m not about the satanism aspect of it and obviously there is a lot of satanic influence, but God is all powerful and always triumphs, so I will continue to appreciate the technical aspects I’ve found in metal, and bask in Gods glory of one of his many creations that has led me to be honored for this life.

The sense of time evolves as you age. Kids always have a warped sense of time. All people older than a teenager are "old" to them, there's little distinction. As you age, your ability to comprehend and understand the subtlety of age and time grows.

For example, 0-5 years old is an eternity to someone who's just turned 5, someone who's 10 that represents a long time, but only half their life. However to someone who's pushing 50, it's a fraction of their life.

Does anyone have a link to an explanation of what all these "gens" are and what years are associated with them? Growing up there was only "baby boomers". Then came "gen x" whatever the fuck that means, then they skipped "y" and went to "gen z" (don't even ask about gens a-w), then millennials and now zoomers? I have no fucking idea WHY we have to categorize ourselves this way. I just can't picture anyone in history (before say 1980) sitting around making jokes about groups of people in numerous age ranges. That's too many goddamn labels to keep track of. Why can't we stick with the classics?; baby, toddler, child, teen, adult, middle-aged, old. And fuck the word "tween".
