I was expecting this to be publicized in such a way as to create casus belli to wage war on the industry in the form of new regulations and oversight agencies.
I don't see why they wouldn't just conveniently leave the political funding and Ukraine aspects out of it, like they've done in other high profile cases.

I just finished reading that Guardian piece you posted earlier.
The last line was the most telling:

The same guy who blew the system up is now calling for the same regulation he lobbied for originally.
Feels like a setup to me; he's taking a fall on purpose and crypto becomes the domain of megafirms, just like the stock market (which also benefits their politician counterparts in the end.)
Watch this to see how much time he gets and what happens to him after he's out (that wealth didn't all evaporate; some has to be squirreled away, somewhere.)
