This is a hot mess.

But for once some republicans are standing their ground and refusing to play ball with the swamp creatures.

MGT, Fox News has exposed themselves as controlled opposition.

Tim Pool was live streaming his show during the end of yesterday's session. It's hysterical, the final vote, a vote to adjourn, was basically a repeat of the last general election. The vote was taken, and when the time ran out it looked like the motion had failed and they'd have to keep deliberating into the night. Instead they let more votes tick in after the 15-minute deadline was over and some people changed their vote, and the vote count was wiped off CSPAN, they called the ayes had it. They basically forced the decision counting mail-in votes, lol.

How many more times will he embarass himself before admitting nobody wants him to be Speaker?

He doesn't seem to care about that.

My question, because I don't know the answer, which is better, Steve Scales or Jim Jordan? Who do we want to back between the good options?

I have been asking myself that same question.

Can we trust anyone to be honest and just?

I guess I kind of like Jim Jordan. Steve Scalise is kind of an unknown to me, but he is the favored of the two. So for me it's a question of (Swamp, Unknown with 36% odds, Kind of maybe good but who can 100% confirm with 9% odds). McCarthy at this point is likely to lose to a contender. If we do nothing that contender is Scalise, maybe that's fine.

Edit: There has been an update. Jordan is out. The next contender besides Scalise is somehow Trump? So Scalise it is then.

Fuck most politicians, but especially fuck politicians from California and New York.

Going for a 9th vote too, and McCarthy hasn't dropped out.

[ - ] GeneralDisarray [op] 0 points 2.3 yearsJan 5, 2023 15:50:32 ago (+0/-0)

Take a fucking hint McCarthy!

Drop out and let someone else be nominated.

11th vote ongoing, 5th today, and nope!

Can we ask Elon for a poll on whether he should fuck off?

That should definitely be an option for the public to vote on. We could easily have open and direct democracy where the public could have the last say.

It could all be done on the block chain of xrp.

These politicians are supposed to be representatives. But we can vote on all this shit openly and eliminate their ability to serve themselves first.

So many things here.

Trump looking pretty green. Like this is his first time in politics. (It kind of is.) Or more 3d chess genius if mccarthy eventually wins.

McCarthy initially rejected all conservative demands but now wants to accept them, but is it too late? What was he thinking even rejecting them in the first place?

Maxine Waters campaigning for McCarthy.

McCarthy sending texts out saying he'll fund Ukraine war forever.

Democrats hatching a plan but so difficult to execute a coup without exposing themselves in their own district voters. Voters will fire anyone.

Conservatives told they will be kicked off committees if they don't vote McCarthy.

McCarthy proving he should not be in that role, negotiating with Democrats after promising he would not.

What integrity does he have to even negotiate now? McCarthy will surely backstab anyone.

If McCarthy loses by somebody else throwing their hat in the ring, it's entirely his own fault. Which (aside from the million other reasons) already makes it self-evident he's not smart enough to be speaker in the first place.

McCarthy thinking hes some sort of whip while running for speaker.

How do the british say it? hes out of his depth.

Out of his mind too probably.

Hubris like delusion is as infinite in the ambitious as duplicity and malice.

One for the inferno if ever I saw. Would that he could, he'd accept a wooden nickel and not think twice. A wooden nickle for the world and his soul. Assuming he ever had one and no other speculators were already owed that debt.

Hey wait a minute there...I resent your use of the term "swamp donkey"...here in northern Ontario we've been calling our moose "swamp donkeys" for as long as I've been breathing...McCarthy doesn't have what it takes to match wits with our moose and referring to a retarded schill as a "SWAMP DONKEY" is way over the line and breeches the universal understanding that prohibits the slandering of any 4 legged wild animal whose weight exceeds that of 3 grown men..in the interest of preserving "ethics related protocols, it is only proper that you submit a written apology to be posted on a reputable site, such as this one...also a mandatory donation of no less than a year's salary to a charity of your choice, providing that your choice meets our approval.
