I have nothing against women doing whatever job they want, so long as they are skilled enough to do it. There is one thing that really bugs me about these chicks doing "man" jobs - they get so prideful and uppity about doing the job, and they think they know everything.
The chick in the post for example, "I'm a hot carpenter at 19". No, you are an apprentice that has ZERO experience. And nobody cares whether you are a woman or not, they only care if you do the work.

I am a finish carpenter. She appears to be mortising the frame for a strike plate, but the drywall isn't even painted. Door knobs are the LAST thing to go on. Let me guess: most of her 'job' consists of having supervisor Chad take pics of her pretending to work, while Brad does the real work.

Happens in the car world too. There's zero chance a chick is dropping a transmission on her own. There's probably 2 dirty ass men doing all the hard work that you never see on camera. Give her the benefit of the doubt that it is indeed a narrow mortise or tang chisel, she should still never use a claw hammer, rather a mallet. Also the angle of the chisel shouldn't be perpendicular to the frame, all cuts should be very shallow.

Of course the apprentice also buys one of the most expensive hammers, a drop forged estwing, its around $100-$150AUD tool that she is using for the wrong application that will damage her chisels.

Also since when are the carpenters fitting doors before the sparkies and telco guys have roughed in the dry wall?

I think I can get you a 16 ounce straight claw with the plastic, not leather, handle for about 25 USD. Aren’t they outlawed in Australia though? That knife edge part of the hammer shank has a habit of cutting off fingers so they’re banned in several states in the US.

Here they use a Stanley knife to cut the frame, then typically use a wood chisel like this to fit the door strike plate.

Probably got it from the company tool supplier catalog, Snap-On industrial (Williams) is like 30-40% cheaper when my company orders it versus anywhere else. Work in a big enough company, suppliers will cut your company a deal for sales volume to be the exclusive payroll deduction choice.
