They also like SF & F, not for the genre, the enjoyment of reading, the appreciation of the movies/TV series, etc. but for cosplay. For them, the appeal is dressing sexy and attracting attention. I've never known a woman who gave a shit about any other aspect of SF & F than the style and costuming.

Christ, what the fuck is wrong with you OP? So a chick gets excited about the same stuff her mate does, how is that a bad thing? It's actually good, and it's part of the male-female relationship dynamic that evolved since the early primates.

Of course if the chick is using it to intentionally deceive the guy then that's psychotic. But those are the exception. Girls look up to and admire their mate and their works because it helps establish a stable, strong relationship as well it sets the pattern for the children to emulate. And in the same vein guys should strive to always be admirable and to undertake worthy goals.

Now that doesn't mean the chicks are going to be all in like the guys are are. Girls have their own interests that are more suited to their temperaments. But at least she is honestly happy for the guy in his pursuits. Guys OTOH could generally care less about what hobbies and interests his mate has.
