You gotta cheat to lay hold of victory.

submitted by prototype to random 2.4 yearsJan 1, 2023 10:28:21 ago (+4/-0)     (random)

past a certain point cheating in anything doesn't matter, because everything sooner or later is reduced to a proxy for war.

And war has no rules, except those a superior power can force onto a conflict.

War is beyond moral considerations, and therefore the only moral position is victory, victory at all costs.

The opposite is obliteration.

It is why the victors write the history books.

Morality is neither gravedigger nor necromancer. It does not dig up the dead and the lost to decry the manner of their defeat, nor note the infamy and injustices of the victors. Only internal decay, the iron law of oligarchy, and inefficient corruption weakens a state sufficiently that inside and outside forces may destroy or supplant it. Few states die natural deaths. Many states are murdered by their own wickedness or some external power more wicked than them. And this is the course of things for all time. This is how the books are balanced.

Precariously, inevitability. Slowly and then all at once.

I wonder who will capture your particular autism first.

Or, maybe, the CIA already has.

"Or, maybe, the CIA already has."

I've been a defender of them for a while because seeing the FBI go full britfag zionist, and what the playbook is, I'm inclined to believe a lot of the shit the CIA gets blamed for is actually ADL/FBI et al massively projecting against the only organization that historically has been for the elimination of communism.

Or maybe thats just a low-effort take. It's not a sure thing by all means, merely a potential consideration.

Watching a 'train-wreck' and cheering it on without appeal to morality or regret versus participating in causing it, are two very different things.

I just observe and explain.

In the cold war with the stasi it became difficult to separate the tactics of one agency from those of their evil nemesis over the wall. We admired their complete control and masterful record keeping and profiling of citizens so much we let a lot of them go in exchange for tips, techniques and their files.

If you debase yourself overly much in winning you will need to be exterminated after since civilization is no longer for you. Pretty hard to come back from total debauch.

"If you debase yourself overly much in winning you will need to be exterminated after since civilization is no longer for you. Pretty hard to come back from total debauch."

The cost of civilization is your soul. That is an inescapable conclusion.

The preservation of civilization for others, requires barbarity from some. The preservation of justice for all requires cruelty from and to a few. The preservation of beauty requires baseness. The preservation of knowledge requires the removal of ignorance. The preservation of order requires chaos. The preservation of what is good and right and proper and true demands what is not.

The watchmen on the wall, because their obligations to those within, have no obligation of humanity to those outside it.
Like the green mountaineer, their motto must be: Our ruler is Law, and the Law is our own.

All else are devils.

*We sleep soundly in our beds, because rough men stand ready in the night to do violence on those who would harm us"*
Orwell cited Kipling's phrase "making mock of uniforms that guard you while you sleep" (Kipling, Tommy), and further noted that Kipling's "grasp of function, of who protects whom, is very sound. He sees clearly that men can be highly civilized only while other men, inevitably less civilized, are there to guard and feed them." (1942)

The swiss are the country equivalent of a porcupine. Not exactly an apex predator, but also not worth the pain it would cost to eat them. Also they are only just strong enough to be defensive, and so long as they cannot project their power no one needs be nervous of them enough to make them into a target.

They are right in the butter zone for being able to maintain their neutrality.

The swiss had mountains that no one wanted to deal with.

And the swiss had a lot of the deposits of other nations. I don't like to focus on the 'seats of power' because it carries with a sort of geopolitical tint, which is almost always the wrong frame of reference in my experience. I really wouldn't have consciously considered this though had you not commented. Thanks FLAryan.

Just for the hell of it though, anything more on the swiss angle?

The swiss fund those more powerful than they in exchange for mercy by necessity.
An old jewish tactic. Get em dirty, make sure they need you to survive.

Well said brother, but I am still repulsed by the idea of mass torture or other inhuman acts to bring about victory. Some will do it. Maybe we SHOULD do it, but I fear becoming the monsters I am fighting against.

Even if you have no qualms about torturing traitors for example, and they may well deserve it, could you bring yourself to rape and kill a child to infiltrate the enemies inner circle and destroy them.

I hope not. Some lines cannot and should not be crossed, or else we may save our lives at the cost of our souls.

That is not a bargon I am willing to make.

If the opponent cheats and it is allowed, then cheating has become a part of the rules.
If the opponent cheats and it is allowed so long as they do not get caught, it has also been integrated into the rules that you can cheat so long as you are not caught out doing so.
It can also be a part of the rules that finding out your opponent for cheating is a part of the game, you might have to identify how they've broken the rules, and you might be punished for getting it wrong, and a strategy could be to trick your opponent into accusing you of cheating where no cheating occurred.

And the most important strategy is to bribe the judge so they look the other way if you're not careful enough.

Hence, the saying, "Win if you can, lose if you must, but always be cheating."

The saying is if you aren't cheating you aren't really trying.
