I had a dog growing up who was part Great Dane, Doberman and Akita. I saw him snatch a bird out of mid air one time. He ate several birds and squirrels but never bit a human. Closest he ever came to biting someone was a cop. One day my fat Irish alcoholic neighbor got the cops called on him again. Cop came in to ask a few questions. My dog sat between me and the cop. He went to hand me his card and his arm ended up with my dogs mouth around it. He told me afterwards that moved forward just a tad and my dog began to bite down and as he pulled away my dog released his grip. The cop was surprised when I told him he had no training and even failed obedience school when he was young. He said what my dog did to his arm is exactly how they train police dogs.
