I'll agree with USA to USSR in that we've stripped out crucial laws that kept the free market regulated. Allowing money to become "speech," allowing single entities to buy unlimited amount of news stations (in the past one entity could own no more than 50), and creating the perfect environment for billionaires/oligarchs to come into fruition has killed the middle class. And that's what Russia was/still is: a few rich and powerful people at the top that do fuck all for the rest of their country.

Modern Russia has a fancy Moscow and St. Petersburg, and the rest is shit due to the same issue. Rich people don't care about country, only about their private gated communities.
