If you look at the "S" you'll see an asterisk after it. Below that is the description.

It means they created the artificial flavor using natural ingredients. The "Beet Juice Concentrate" is no doubt to help give it the pinkish color.

Years ago the government started cracking down on the wording of a lot of products since many of them were flat out lying. A great example of this are breakfast cereals: Honey Smacks is Smacks, Fruit Loops is Froot Loops, Apple Jacks is Jacks, etc etc.

So now these companies use word play and footnotes to game the system.

It says Artificial Flavor. That's one thing. So it's Artificial.

It says "No Artificials". Plural. Artificials means more than one. So in a technical, liar, demon, marketing logic way they are telling you the truth... There's only one artificial no artificials. So there is only 1 and not more than one.
