I did learn one thing a while ago about the post office - not sure if it is still true, but does seem so:

the post office is chartered in the Constitution of the US, but is actually a quasi-private company, just semi-tied to the (((government))) by the charter.

This is why the post office has to fund their own pensions - to the tune of 50 years worth? - which was directed under Bush 2? The policy was put in place to try to get the post office sold off into a fully private entity, the profits from which would then go to the politicians??

Meanwhile, pedo joe* just budgeted hundreds of billions for other public pensions (welfare) due to the projected shortfalls. But not the post office....

That said, the guy saying the post office was federal, and therefore public, property might be skating on thin ice.
