Seems like the hovering was fine. They made a really strong landing (throttle down to zero too quick) which probably shook whoever was on the inside and they panicked and pushed forward on the stick, causing the aircraft to tip forward.
Yup. I'm betting the diversity hired taught diversity hire panicked and took control from the computer, dooming the machine to endless repairs. Of course it's the only productive people left in society to foot the bill, that being almost entirely straight, White men.
My phone is a faggot, and I have family in the uk and Canada. But I hate them all for selling our once great nations to pajeets pakis, bugs, and kebabs. It’s so disgusting I don’t even visit anymore.
The F35 is the greatest boondoggle ever (well not the greatest, but it's up there). They will keep throwing money at it and eventually get a 'good enough' fighter, but the thing has clearly been an unpractical plane right from day 1.
Remember when Homer designed a car and it bankrupted his brother's car company? The F35 is like that, except as long as there are taxpayers the military won't go bankrupt.
The F35 was the first 5th generation fighter. Could they have done it better? Sure, consider however, they're selling like hotcakes. It's not like it's only a spending exercise.
Not really, it's been upgraded to 5th generation. It originally didn't have the radar and comm systems that make a fighter 5th generation. Although it is a super bad ass fighter jet.
I find it hilarious no one in this thread took 2 minutes to look into why this happened.
This was a test flight, The aircraft is owned by Lockheed, and was doing a test flight before military delivery.
When you land a VTOL, any VTOL, there is a "pillow" of air when you get near the ground that can cushion the landing. In this case the pillow was too soft, hence the bounce before the accident.
Given the obvious overstress when the nose hit, things broke. this is conjecture, but it's highly likely that the pilot was unable to terminate the operation of the engines.
No one has mentioned the ridiculous engineering that makes it possible to eject at 0 altitude. See the history of ejection seats, it's a good study.
I looked it up, that ejection thing is a feature not a bug. The F35 uses what's called a zero-zero system. Ejection is designed to be possible at 0 altitude and 0 knots. I'm guessing there were many times during the aircraft's development when whoever was sitting in it on the ground suddenly needed to get as far away from the thing as possible. I don't agree with them ditching out of it like they did in this situation, however. Maybe bailing was the quickest way to engage safety systems that would kill the engine before the plane made it into traffic.
The nexus of poor training and bad hardware design. Popping the ejector at ground level was the worst thing this pilot could have done, and not just because the plane was still under power and headed toward a public road. They need a certain altitude for the chute to work. Otherwise it's a great way to break legs and vertebrae. That was actually the most surprising part of this vid to me. It looked like the parachute did a pretty good job even at the low altitude. The ejector part of the F35 is fully dialed in.
Let’s be honest, if a serious war starts all the diversity bullshit will stop and competent white men will be getting killed for Zelensky and Hunter Biden.
...the (d)ejected "diverse hire" lands in front of the plane and it wasn't even fully stalled yet, I was waiting for the thing to go over the retarded pilot.
As soon as the craft started to lower, I could see they were bringing the craft down too fast and it was going to be a hard landing, which is bad for the VTOL's. Then, as expected, it bounced, snapped the forward landing gear on the hard drop and crashed.
Duely noted but I'll guarantee that Capt Congo was going to eject one way or another even while idle on a base field, he probably had childhood visions of one day becoming the 1st nigger ejection seat pilot.
