What is it like to meet someone truly intelligent? I wonder. I bet they're either incredibly understanding, or intolerant due to having so few peers. Having an analytical mind, doesn't necessarily make you a genius, it's being able to define and solve problems quickly in novel ways. Like the people who came up with interlinked hydraulic suspension, that seems so complex and out there. I suppose there are different types of intelligences and some people have a high verbal intelligence, while others have high spatial intelligence, while others have high emotional intelligence, but seldom do you find someone who has a high degree of 'global' intelligence.

I believe there are different types, there are things that I am very good at, and things that I can't figure out for the life of me. I'm not strong at math or programming, it takes me more effort to understand that than others, but I intuitively understand Aerodynamics. I'm not strong at electronics, but I know how to plan and manage inventory and logistics with the best of them. I understand mechanics and internal combustion engines since they pump air. I'm a wizard at hydraulics because it's just fluid dynamics. But I can't draft or draw to save my life. I'm very good at troubleshooting mechanical issues, but bad at electrical troubleshooting. I'm a terrible salesman or marketer, or making legal arguments, because I don't like or have no skill at twisting the truth.

Intelligence, and talent/ability are not the same thing.

All talented/capable people do share the trait of higher than average intelligence, but intelligence does not equal talented/successful.

I've got an IQ of ~145, and I just flat out refuse to deal with the outside world on a day-to-day. I retired at 40, and bought a farm. I raise my own meat, and grow 70% of everything else I need.

I could be making the World "a better place" but I honestly am disgusted at the vast majority of my society, and they can all fuck right off.
