How I felt getting sober last year.

I would always think of this scene from Forgetting Sarah Marshal(2008) when I was getting sober last year. It has almost been a year so I thought I would post it. I don't really know any other way to be supportive to all those that struggle with serious substance abuse issues on this site, but that is my 2 cents.

Some users experience difficulty, or otherwise have objections to, webm and webp content. The intention with providing mirrors isn't to try to say you've done anything wrong. Far from it. Thanks for the content :)

Webm is a url forwarder, that can be tracked if it calls out for a font (as one example) Think of embedding a pixel in an email. An mp4 is just an mp4.

I had no idea it could pull fonts. Interesting. It was done in handbrake. I just saw it was 2mb smaller and given that catbox moves like molasses allot of the time, opted for the smaller file size.

Normally they don't call out, as far as I can tell, but it's built inherently as apart in the protocol, we can assume to use nefariously. It's like a webpage/mp4 hybrid.

Yeah I knew the community didn't like that format. I just didn't know how vehement it was until I used it.

Well I'll just encoding in hevc/*.MP4 moving forward.

That's okay man. It works for you and that's good. I just wanted to see if life was better for me without and it was a net positive experience.

Oh and I will start again but not until I am making my own wine from scratch. So that's my goal. Produce enough wine to drink 3 bottles a day. So 1000 bottles a year. Then I'm retiring and acquiring gout.

Okay, we are not in the same league. When I say drink I mean A "cocktail" or two, not a bottle or three. This is different. Very different.

I was in the 3 bottles category. My drink was 3 fingers of Jim on ice. I think I just crossed over 8 years dry.

You know, keeping it to what only you can produce as a hobbyist is a great way to still imbibe yet keep yourself to a reasonable amount.

Oh no man, ones ability to give 0 fucks about the dumpster fire that is the west is exacerbated by to many spirits.

I always said if I didn't want to drink I just wouldn't but the longer term heal effects were starting to root and I didn't like the hangovers.

Yeah I was a binge drinker and at about age 32 started suffering dreadful hangovers .. thus I would stay away from alcohol for six weeks at a time then start off again .. on days one, two and three I would be quaffing all day, on the fourth day I would be so sick I couldn't get out of bed.

That is what happened the last time .. I hit the bars and in Paul Simon's words "a friend can't be found," I became abusive the police came and into the drunk's tank I went. That was the Thursday night, on Friday I stayed in bed sick as a dog all day.

Then on Saturday I went to take a drink of water from the jug beside the bed there were two snakes swimming around in it .. I was in delirium tremens, that was it for drinking it was in 1982 and I have never been affected by alcohol since.

Well, I don't care. I still think she is fine, but probably just my idea of her 20 years ago. There is a great line in that movie Imperium (2016) about how it's impossible to do anything without a jews hands being on it.
