The only feature that i like about a smart watch is that you can change the dials like screensavers. Everything else sucks to me and they are meant to be obsolete in a year or two.
I'm looking forward to when they come out with the neural ink implants. How many people will turn into zombies, and probably starve themselves to death while they have a TikTok stream of cat videos beamed directly into their brains?
man im wearing a 6 year old gear s3 frontier i bought when they had already been out for 2 years and going cheap, its limited but ive definitely found uses for it. Did use it for security work as the NFC in it can be rigged up with the right software to tag patrol points with watch instead of pulling phone out, and can be used to trigger the cam on the phone, make calls, or send off set messages without drawing a lot of attention.
Im a fucking tightarse and didnt have a handlebar mount for my phone on my motorcycle, herewego gives me directions straight to my wrist instead so its no different from checking the time without fucking around with the phone. does get confused from time to time but mostly works pretty damn well.
tl;dr 6 year old smart watch ive had for 3 still goes just fine and was ultimately a good value buy and worn far more than other watches ive had. its a tad more difficult to use properly with a nokia phone but still useful.
