I worked for Mercedes for a while and have owned several and can say with authority that they’re the worst cars ever for reliability and longevity. Ya, they ride pretty nice and the interior comforts are good - when all that shit actually works, but they’re broken so often it’s not worth owning.

Most people who buy new Mercedes own them for far less than the warranty period because the damned cars spend so much time in the shop they figure out the cars are shit.

Fuck Mercedes and fuck this paywall shit for any manufacturer. No vehicle maker has such an awesome vehicle I will ever pay for shit like this because I HAVE to have THAT vehicle.

I will absolutely verify that. Were it not for my wife I'd never buy another Mercedes. The only car they make that comes close to the hype is the S class and for that kind of money there's other cars I'd much rather have. Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing to name one.

Mine doesn't. IDK how hard they lock you out on this new one, but I haven't had trouble enabling non-factory stuff with little software tweaks.

Like it or not but price discrimination happens in a LOT of sectors and it's the only way to make money. You don't make products for the working class. You use the working class to market your products to rich people who then pay 100x for the "exclusive" version. Text books (Indian version vs US version), video games ("F2P" being some of the most profitable games out there), phones charging $100 for $10 of flash storage, and more.

The stupid thing is they are already subscribing heated seats...something already installed and is an expense to the manufacturer. Get enough people to say "no" for the upcharge, the policy of putting parts in a vehicle to charge someone in the future will be a financial liability.

Satellite radio is just a passive signal you listen too. occasionally they'll broadcast activation and deactivation signals and it's up to your radio to follow the deactivation command.

That's besides the point. The radio is capable of receiving the signal but if payment stops the radio is told to stop working.

Meanwhile we're being flooded with signals from those satellites slowly coming us and they want to get paid for it.
