I was hoping to see it match the color of that guy's hand

Yeah I really wanted to see that too.

Awesome video, thanks for sharing. I don't think they are in control of the color change, I'm pretty sure it's a natural reaction. Kinda like how when we get cold we shiver. They're cool, strange, and very particular animals.

Fun fact, Chameleons in captivity won't drink water from a dish. They'll drink droplets off a leaf, or themselves, but if they're only provided with a water dish they'll die of thirst. The prevailing theory is that they're afraid of standing water.

Not so much afraid, but they know stagnant water is dead. It's not active like running water. And that brings me to a topic of interest... structured water.

My parents, um, have an electric water bowl... since there's moving water it makes the cats more likely to drink from the water bowl. This way they don't entirely need to depend on the water content in their wet food.

Yep, cats are hardwired to be distrustful of still water. Both of my cats drink from the dog water bowl but they bat their paws around in it first to stir the water before they drink.

Nature is cool sometimes. Other times its a skunk.

Or a stink horn, poison ivy, hyena, a nigger, or worst of all- a kike.

Parasites really are the worst.

What Chameleon? All I saw was a hand and a straw.

Something about your response stinks of Reddit.

This is something that doesn’t make sense from an “evolution” perspective. How could you evolve such a specific task? Especially one that makes it harder for mates to find you?

[ - ] ruck_feddit 3 points 1.5 yearsNov 17, 2022 22:23:10 ago (+3/-0)

It's probably less complex than your eyeball. Even if that wasn't true, there are several examples of eyes evolving independently. People don't think life be like it is, but it do.

One day mr. and mrs. lizard had some babies, and one of the babies had a mutation to camouflage itself with its surroundings. Then that lineage simply survived to this day. Who knows, there could have been lizards that flash between red and yellow for no reason. But they all got eaten. That’s how evolution goes

Was expecting a jew reference.

Was not disappointed.

That chameleon is dead after changing red. Red color is too stressful for them and they die after a long while in red

[ - ] observation1 0 points 1.5 yearsNov 18, 2022 07:38:56 ago (+0/-0)

Weird. Is that true?

It wasn't red very long

[ - ] BohMoon 0 points 1.5 yearsNov 17, 2022 23:46:27 ago (+0/-0)

Posting a Reptile changing colors? As a jew boy I find this antisemitic.

[ - ] RedBarchetta 0 points 1.5 yearsNov 17, 2022 21:57:53 ago (+0/-0)

He seems sus.

[ - ] Breeder 0 points 1.5 yearsNov 17, 2022 20:55:07 ago (+0/-0)

Chameleons change color more based off their emotions, not what color they're currently touching.
