if the USPS pushed a mandate they would lose a % of their workers. If they lost any number it would collapse. They are barely surviving

Reminder that the postal service was characterized by the propensity of their workers to randomly start shooting ordinary people in spontaneous events of mass murder.

To the point the term for going on a spree killing rampage was euphemistically called "going postal".

The postal service has power because people know postal workers aren't to be fucked with.

Government workers were exempt from forced vaccinations

Most people don't realize the Post Office is one of the most powerful organizations in the American government. Just look up U.S. Postal Inspector. They can go anywhere, do anything, and practically nobody can stop them.

I was paying my cable bill one day across the street from the Post Office. There were 5 Postal Inspectors in the parking lot putting on bullet proof vests and loading shotguns. Turned out they were raiding a grow house in a middle class neighborhood about a mile away. FedEx your weed.

FFS even the post office is militarized.

They probably have 20 million rounds of ammo. Per inspector.

Reminds me of that Mitch Hedberg joke.

FedEx your weed.

Interestingly, it's the other way around in practice. The USPIS regularly inspects FedEx and UPS shipping centers, but never their own.

Black market dealers nearly exclusively use USPS because of this.

Down here Australia Post workers were never forced to get vaxxed.

[ - ] Clubberlang 2 points 2.5 yearsNov 17, 2022 11:59:10 ago (+2/-0)

We're they held to the 3km LGA and told to stay home for fear they might catch a bioweapon made in Wuhan? But were fine 2 years prior when they were delivering mail full time during the plandemic?

[ - ] dulcima 4 points 2.5 yearsNov 17, 2022 17:05:31 ago (+4/-0)

Australia Post is federal, not state. Most of the pandemic shit the world saw coming out of Australia was because of power drunk state premiers.

[ - ] UncleDoug 1 point 2.5 yearsNov 17, 2022 19:13:18 ago (+1/-0)

Australia Post didn't have to get vaxxed because no Aussie works there, they are all Paki, Filipino, Nepalese or other 3rd tier mutt race.

Because they were fighting over who would receive manufacturing rights to produce vaccines locally. Smaller overheads, greater profit, and by extension more money for the premier goons at our expense. Also 2/3 of the east coast goons were jews at the time.

My white brother in law works there, and my brother nearly worked there (lost his job because it vaxx or get out.)

He tells me there were lots of people in masks though. He just kept to himself and did his thing.

Posts offices and things seem to be full of pajeets - however, White people do work in Australia Post.

Odd they quickly made sure they got rid of Berejiklian when they figured out she wasn't going to play "which suburb gets locked down until 90% bioweapon uptake?!"

Then all of a sudden she was fuckin the janitor.

where in Aus are you? Im in Florida.

[ - ] dulcima 4 points 2.5 yearsNov 17, 2022 17:03:39 ago (+4/-0)

Australia Post falls under the Federal Govt, not state. In fact if you were employed under federal laws, you weren't forced to make the decision between taking the vax or your job (a federal employee could take the vax if they wished, it was not enforced.)

The most egregious abuses of power came from state premiers, high on "pandemic powers". If you were employed under state law, well, it was get the vax or else. Or to quote Dan Andrews, "Well, they won't be going to work".

[ - ] Centaurus 0 points 2.5 yearsNov 17, 2022 19:36:25 ago (+0/-0)

Down under they wanted to, though.

[ - ] localsal 1 point 2.5 yearsNov 17, 2022 11:27:56 ago (+1/-0)

If common sense prevailed, I would imagine the postal workers to be a specific group with minimal need.

Most of the workers are behind the scenes, not customer facing - the actual carriers, the sorters, the transport, are all mostly isolated jobs without any need for contact with anyone else.

[ - ] Spaceman84 3 points 2.5 yearsNov 17, 2022 13:47:48 ago (+3/-0)

All of the carriers are supposed to be mobile post offices. Gotta interact with customers. Clerks and supervisors work the front with the customers as well as sorting parcels in the back. The only people who don't deal with customers are the ones working at the main sorting facilities and the truck drivers who deliver to the individual offices. I'd say 2/3 have to deal with customers daily. I was a rural carrier for five years.
