The United Methodist Church moved toward becoming more progressive and LGBTQ-affirming during U.S. regional meetings this month that included the election of its second openly gay bishop. Conservatives say the developments will only accelerate their exit from one of the nation’s largest Protestant denominations.

Mu’adh ibn Jabal reported: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, dispatched him to Yemen, he went out with him to instruct Mu’adh as he was riding. When he finished, the Prophet said, “O Mu’adh, perhaps you will not see me after this year, perhaps you will pass by my mosque and my grave.” Mu’adh wept respectfully at the parting of the Messenger of Allah, then the Prophet turned to face Medina and he said, “Verily, the people of this house of mine view themselves as the nearest to me, but the nearest of people to me are the Godfearing, whoever they are and wherever they are. O Allah, I have not made lawful for them the wickedness You have corrected! I swear by Allah, my nation will turn away from its religion just as a vessel is poured into a basin.”

o dear muslim this thread is about christian apostasy how they are inverting everything that our holy book condemns.

faggots, homosexuals should NOT be celebrated as something that its good or wholesome since the lifestyle only brings death to the ones practicing homosexuality.

if our apostles were alive today these people would have been expelled for doing something like this.

salaam to you!

And upon you.

You should accept Islam. Nothing in the sayings of Jesus imply that the "helper" mentioned by Jesus is the "ruh qadduus" or "holy spirit" in English. As a Muslim, I believe this helper was already with Jesus and helping him.

Rather the helper who will "tell you of what's to come" according to Jesus is the final prophet of God, an orphaned Arab man who called the people to worship God alone, named Muhammad. Peace and blessings of God be upon him and upon Jesus.

We firmly believe that the Bible is not historically preserved and that it was changed by the hand of man. Further, we believe that the Gospels are like a game of "telephone" and contain fragments of the original sayings and teachings of Jesus combined with some false claims and information as well. The most crucial fabrication is the false story of the crucifixion of Jesus. We believe that God saved Jesus outright and ascended him up to God after he prostrated in the garden. Further, God made it seem to the people like Jesus was crucified but it was another in his place (many scholars say Judas). The Quran is not like the Bible when it comes to history. It has been memorized in its entirety for 14 centuries in all of its 7 valid Arabic intonations.

Here is the passage of the Quran in which Jesus is asked by God on the day of resurrection if Jesus was commanded by God to tell the people to worship himself and his mother, instead of God alone:

i'm sorry but i have to stay with the gospels. if i stray from them then i would be hellbound. besides i do believe that jesus is the son of God because it is stated in the gospels , in the psalms and in the prophets.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Psalms 110:1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Psalms 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Matthew 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

Matthew 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

Mark 3:11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

Luke 3:38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

John 3:18 ¶ He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

John 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

christianity holds that jesus is not only the messiah and the servant sufferer but also the son of God

Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

Ezekiel 34:24 And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it. ( david was long dead after this prophecy was made)

Isaiah 53:10 ¶ Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

there's more but i will stop here

This is simply not true. I won't ramble on. Here is an article from Arab news proving my point that many Orthodox Muslims study parts of the Bible to strengthen their belief in the Quran which corrects the corrupted portions of the Bible:

You have waiting for you double the reward with God if you accept that the paracletos and final prophet mentioned here is Muhammad (God bless him and give him peace):

John 1:19-22

New International Version

John the Baptist Denies Being the Messiah

19 Now this was John’s testimony when the Jewish leaders[a] in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was.

20 He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.”

21 They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said,
“I am not.”

“Are you the Prophet?”

He answered, “No.”

22 Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

To whom do you think "that Prophet" was referring?

[ - ] knightwarrior41 [op] 0 points 1.5 yearsNov 21, 2022 19:33:07 ago (+0/-0)

this is the paracletos:

"John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

John 16:13
New American Standard Bible

13 But when He, (A) the Spirit of truth, comes, He will (B)guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

How has the Holy Spirit been telling you the future lately?

What you've quoted contradicts other parts of the Bible itself.

[ - ] knightwarrior41 [op] 0 points 1.5 yearsDec 1, 2022 17:35:21 ago (+0/-0)

it doesnt contradict anything.quote the whole verse instead of cherry picking

1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. 2They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. 3And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. 4But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. 5But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? 6But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. 7Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9of sin, because they believe not on me; 10of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 16A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
17Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father? 18They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith. 19Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? 20Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. 21A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. 22And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. 23And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. 24Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. 26At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: 27for the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. 28I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. 29His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. 30Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God. 31Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? 32Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. 33These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Okay thanks for quoting the larger context. This phrase:

"and he will shew you things to come"

Clearly states that the "advocate" mentioned will disclose future events to you. How do you reconcile this?

[ - ] knightwarrior41 [op] 0 points 1.5 yearsDec 4, 2022 10:48:55 ago (+0/-0)

yes the holy spirit did disclosed future events to the apostles. this is the context.

It was narrated from Aishah that some of the Jews came to the Prophet(ﷺ) and said:
"Assam o alaika (death be upon you), O Abul-Qasim!" He said: "Wa 'alayikum (and also upon you)."
