what's the truth about Antarctica?

submitted by dog_faced_pony_soldier to AskUpgoat 1.5 yearsNov 10, 2022 18:18:37 ago (+3/-1)     (AskUpgoat)

what are they hiding down there?

why do global powers all agree to keep it secure?

Does anyone have an actual clue?

I have wondered about this for ages.

My guess is that it either has massive amounts of natural resources, gold, etc. that would disrupt the global economy or, hopefully, the remnants of the nazi party and their UFOs lol

Penguins seem to really like the place

You should send a formal letter to Karine Jean-Pierre asking her to divulge everything she knows about it.

It doesn't cost that much to buy a blue water boat capable of making the journey down there. And even less to just charter one, along with a crew willing to take you there. Hell, people have done that solo.

Save up some money, maybe find some like-minded folks to split the bill, and go see for yourself.

Spoilers: It's really cold and there's a lot of ice.

I've actually looked into this. It's expensive compared to most vacations but definitely doable.

It would be neat to start a project where people send drone ships down there with long-range airborne drones that they can deploy, land, recharge, and redeploy continuously. 2-3 hours of flight time at a time at 100-140 mph can cover a decent bit of ground. The drone ships could have an abundance of solar panels and send and receive data through starlink. If they wanted to be extra stealthy, they could meshnet the signal through a bunch of drone ships that connect to starlink several hops down the chain, a few hundred miles away from the main drone carrier, with a few spares on standby to automatically relocate and reconnect if one of the starlink dishes are knocked out.

We could eventually mesh-net our way inland and create charging bases further down the intended path. If we beam energy to the drone via microwaves, we can avoid the landing phase, but it might be simpler just to send a bunch of cheaper drones.

prohibited, because environment

no way in hell they are gonna let anyone litter the untouched wastes with lipo batteries and solar panels
solar might not even work so well in some places.

Don't hear me wrong, I'm on board. lets do it.

The idea would be to evade any sort of enforcement of those rules. In that spirit, maybe a submersible or semi-submersible series of ships would work better. I would think that resources would be spread pretty thin out there.

dude, get out of my head.

I've been considering completely unmanned, submersible, VERY SMALL, the logistics of radio contact are daunting
I have milestones. First is a landbased that recharges, then watercraft, then guiding a landbased to the coast remotely, then a sea test of another. Then figure out how to let it drive itself in the darkness when no gps or radio is available.

aw man, you woke it up... I would desire to build all of it, no china drones, another thing is can these materials even survive extreme cold. Its a fun thing to try.

Great minds think alike! It would be a fun and challenging adventure.

We have no idea. It's very likely there are some ancient ruins that destroy the narrative that history started 5,000 years ago. And probably some ancient technology we don't have anymore.

That's my guess. In the satellite images that I've seen, I've found black pyramids and a few of what looked like crash sites for other-worldly craft. I think the secrets being kept down there do point to a global civilization much more advanced than we are today that collapsed following the last big cataclysm. I wonder how much of our modern technology leaked out of discoveries like that.

or it's the edge.

Consider a single pole in the center of disc instead of two poles, south would lead away from the central point.
The central point could be 'circled' heading east and west, just a big circle.
The outer perimeter would always be towards 'south'.
A flat edge spun into a sphere's cap.

I dont actually know fuck all, but I think it's worth an independent look. No, not from the history channel.

If you struggle with flat earth and moon landings its best you just find another leg to hump

Some kind of history destroying shit like this.
Same as the ape elders were hiding in Planet of the Apes.

Super cyclotron, pyramids, some alien technology, and imprisoned angels.
