Reminds me of a friend I had back in high school who worked part time at a starbucks but quit after a few months because pretty much all the employees were gigantic flaming faggots. And this was nearly 20 years ago. Cafe workers have been mentally ill and gay for quite some time now.

OED is better - however, while they're very close, colleague has a connotation of a worker of esteemed social position. A coworker would better describe a cafe employee.
