Why is this downvoted? These are fine watches crafted by white people in Switzerland. Priced high but at the same time modern Rolex are made 100% in house this past decade and every aspect is quality controlled by them.

Not something that I'd spend my money on, but I appreciate them for what they are

Rolex in particular are made to be long lasting and more importantly serviceable with good customer support. They're a great product and the price reflects it.

No, their price reflects the elitist snobbery that one feels when owning a Rolex. Practically speaking, you get better time with a cheap quartz watch. Are the mechanical wonders and well crafted? Yes. But when you're plunking down tens of thousands of dollars for a Rolex, you're buying a status symbol.

Well, I won’t lie: It is a sense of achievement knowing I can buy one of them (or 4), but I have probably 10 watches and the other 6 are other brands. The Rolex is better than them all as far as what I want/need from a watch. For instance, I have two Corums that are in roughly the same price territory as my Rolexes and when they were working, I loved them, but the crowns snapped on both of them and now I have like $8K of broken wristwatches. My Bulovas keep great time because they are Quartz and as a native NYer, I love the NY brand and 3 generations of my family wore them, compared to Rolex, the finish is dog shit. I enjoyed my $380 G-Shock for a time, but again: broken and the finishing is not nearly as nice. Etc, Etc.

Oh yes I agree which is why I don't spend my money on them. Would rather take a vacation or buy something for the house. Just saying though, they're definitely not "junk" or a waste of money, you do get what you pay for even though it is definitely not a necessary expense

They’re stabilizing. The past 2-3 years were ridiculous. You can still buy one and probably immediately make like $2K-$5K if you flip it, but I love to wear my watches. The dealers often find out you sold it and then they’ll blacklist you and you’ll never get one at retail again. I wish I had enough money to get myself a White Gold Day Date.

Nice, I’ve got the Red/Black “coke” bezel version. Love it. My favorite watch, I wore it while traveling and used the gmt features. I don’t travel much now, so I keep it locked in my safe. It’s tripled in value since I bought it.
