I wonder if this is a way for Elon to finally get the defense department to pay for some of Ukraine's use which I imagine is pretty heavy on the terminals they have including a lot of video feed from drones etc. The timing of this makes me think that might be the case. Elon didn't want the US defense department to cover some of the Ukraine costs and they refused but if you want can charge 25 cents per gigabyte over 1 TB then if the Ukrainian terminals are using a lot of bandwidth then Elon can start to recoup some of that money. I think Elon has come to his senses and seeing how the gloss is definitely off the apple with regard to the leadership of Ukraine when he proposed a perfectly sensible peace plan and they all screamed at him like he was Kanye west.

Well 1 terabyte 8snt bad.

It will stop people from using it as a torrent hub I guess.

That's probably what they want to stop.

Well that pretty much changes the whole game.

Does anyone else remember that when Tesla started and you bought your car you got free charging for life. Yes that's right you got free charging for life when you bought a Tesla in the early days. And in fact some of those early model as Teslas are still out there and if you buy one of those used you get free charging for life because it goes with the car and not the person. Of course those older Teslas don't charge as fast as the new one so it's not as convenient but you can literally buy a vehicle that you never have to pay for your transportations costs again until the pure solar electric cars like appter and light year begin to come out.

So anyway once again it's a bit of a switcheroo for the old users or buyers of starlink. I don't know if those station buyers the ones who already have the equipment will continue to have their unlimited data cap or whether they'll be put into the new data cab mode. Since the cost of the original equipment is sort of expensive and part of the deal was no data caps it does seem to me like it devalues the equipment although I don't know how harsh the data caps will be.

So if the system is strained and they need a data cap then why does everyone get reset on the data at the first of the month? That doesn’t make any fucking sense. Just like how other countries, not the US, have way faster data speeds and probably less shitty plans with this data cap throttled speeds bullshit. Who’s behind this and what the fuck for? Seriously, I can’t purchase a plan for any amount of money that won’t eventually have some sort of fucking data cap throttle speed fuckery. Why? Fucking bank niggers is why but what’s their end game with this shit?

They do it because enough customers cave and upgrade to the higher bandwidth plans, and since they all do it, they can get away with it because the customers don't have an alternative.

Imagine if just one ISP offered a $25/month truly unlimited plan; all the others would either follow suit or be out of business within a year.

But why when it’s obvious that it’s not a problem in the first place?
