Everyone on the phony climate change wagon should be first to suffer ie no heat, no auto fuel or electricity, no groceries unless grown naturally by themselves, nothing whatsoever manufactured in a petroleum based industry, no pet food etc...the climate clowns and global warming retards can take care of themselves given that they're so intellectually elevated.

As I recall, that was the purpose of widening the already existing Keystone pipeline to the Keystone XL. The thought process was to increase the amount of oil being transferred to existing refineries like the one in Houston because those were grandfathered in as exceptions to new EPA guidelines. The argument was that new refineries would have a prohibitively high price tag so just pumping more oil to existing refineries made more sense. The big problem with the proposed Keystone XL pipeline was that it would cut across the Ogallala Aquifer, the largest aquifer in the US and the major supply of most agricultural irrigation water. It does make sense to be cautious about installing a pipeline in this area because leaks will happen and the cost of cleaning them will fall to the farmers who will suffer.

It'd be hard to run a pipeline clear across the country without running into water.

That's true but the Ogallala Aquifer is a particularly large and critical supply for agricultural producers.

It is true the existing pipeline already cuts through it, as this image shows:

It really just comes down to risk management. You're putting a pipeline in place that will exist for a very long time. Might as well get it right when you build it and go around the aquifer, similar to the old pipeline. It's just extra cost that discourages this.

And it is true there are already pipelines everywhere in the US. Here, many of Kinder Morgan's assets are shown:

If you want to do things on the cheap, you're going to have problems down the road. But you also want to finish something and make a living during your lifetime. Balancing these priorities is what I advocate. If we really want to secure the future of White children, that includes being a responsible steward of the environment that they will inherit from us. That isn't to say we should abandon all progress either. Leaving them without a developed infrastructure is just as bad.

Could not the government invoke the defense production act and take over refineries if they wanted to?

It's because of "government" that we're in the shit we're in...climate fags must hang
