I put a 6'x6' thin fake grass carpet down on the hardwood floor to stem the spread of cat litter from the box. It only cost me about $17 and it works really well! Also, big shout out for the Litter Robot cat box and having a small air filter above it (cuts down a lot on the dust). - Upgoat

I also have a cat water fountain. Really helps them get more water.

The Litter Robot is expensive, but absolutely worth every penny. Go check out their web site. I'm not affiliated in any way - I just love these things. Makes the most unpleasant thing about having indoor cats mostly an afterthought. If you have questions let me know. I've had a Litter Robot for about 8 years now.

I actually found my cat living in an alley behind my old house. Took a while to earn her trust enough to get her indoors. She was strictly indoors but became stir crazy so now she gets let out with a tracker. Still, she's inside the majority of the day so this may save us some trouble. Will check it out

I wish the cats could go outside here - they'd definitely get more exercise. Alas we have a LOT of coyotes.

Saw the brown grass, but I kind of like having the green. It's stupid, but I think it's nice.
