The Missouri Meerschaum do exactly that. They were inexpensive but still good quality. I used to have one in the 70s/80s for smoking in places I thought I might lose my pipe.

Way overcomplicated, but it has pics.

6 or 8 inch square of foil. Roll around pencil to make the stem, with finger in one end to keep a bowl shape. Turn the 'bowl' upright with your finger without kinking too much. (unlike their step 5) Cover the outer bowl with a 1"x1" concave piece of foil and crimp around the edges. Use a needle to poke tiny holes in this to make it act like a screen.

If you roll it a bit loosely, you can then crush it around the pencil to make it stronger. It's a serviceable one-time pipe for those emergency needs.

Yes .. there has been a minimum of "chemical fumes" a little but not much, the theory is that with continued use the brown sticky tar that builds up, turns black and goes hard that condenses inside of glass pipes, will eventually seal the system and prevent further chemical imbalance.
