Meta banked big on VR being the way forward. They foresaw a future of VR integration into daily life. Not just people gaming on it, people working on it too. VR meetings with your coworkers, VR dates, VR family reunions. But the tech still isn't all there. The headsets are expensive, uncomfortable, and the experience they offer isn't immersive enough to cause any kind of leap forward in VR acceptance.

Futurists often have tunnel vision that prevents them from seeing the fault in their grand ideas. When I was a kid, all the sci-fi shit made it seem like we would be talking exclusively on video phones by now. Non-visual calls would be a thing of the past. But people didn't want that. We don't want to have to put pants on every time the phone rings. My phone can make video calls and I've never used the feature. The tech exists, and is used, but most of us passed on fully adopting it. Likewise, futurists told us that if VR tech came about, 45% of the world's population would disappear into the matrix and never be seen again. That may still happen, but it won't happen with headsets that give you a headache after a couple of hours.

It's essentially a math problem. Can Meta burn enough of its capital to create this new VR future without flaming out and ending up like any number of companies that had a good idea but were ahead of their time. And for Amazon, you can substitute all the VR stuff for drone-based delivery. Can they burn enough of their money creating a drone that niggers can't just knock over or break with a thrown rock, to make their drivers obsolete and justify the sunk cost. Right now, the stock price says no.

I'm interested in seeing how Twitter will do when Elon brings it public again in 3-5 years.
Meta's investment in virtual reality is worthless.

Agreed if Elon can bring in enough advertising or carry the property without advertising when the Jews I'll try to pull all the advertising then he can build something that will be so appealing and it's so essential to life then it'll be a great company. I kind of wish there was a way to stay invested in Twitter while Elon controlled it because every single company he's ever done has been done well. I know there's some Elon haters here but they really don't know the specific history of all the different companies. Elon is not only a good engineer but he's simply the best chief executive officer to build a company that frankly I think it's ever existed in history in the United States. If somebody says it's not true the name another one who's done as well with so many companies.

I know someone who works for Elon. Reports that the dude is quirky but is super sharp, is very hands on, and knows how to get the job done.

For myself, I think Elon is an inspiration.

I like elon. Or at least the public image of him but I have been following him since the beginning so I've watched him talk a lot and seen him over time and he's always been fairly consistent and never lied or the things like so many people do in the public sphere. He seems to be a little kid that never grew up and had his science fiction dreams and has the unmitigated drive and the smarts and the business acumen to actually make them happen. And since those were the same science fiction dreams a lot of us had I'm personally glad to see him do it. I was very pissed off and disappointed that we didn't even have a rocket that could go to the Moon anymore and I'll tell you what when he started landing those rockets and I need launched the falcon heavy and put that car into space around Mars with that Android in the space suit in it just about brought tears to my eyes. So I'll give him a lot of leeway.

It just means the SPY and QQQ are gonna tank. Get your puts while they're cheap.

(((Institutional investors))) pulling out. Can’t keep their fucking little scheme going without gov’t collusion. They (((need social pressure))) and enforcement that only gov’t can provide.

Yes, I'm hoping that shit tanks even further. Big tech needs to die already.
