Yea, I have kids and a wife and I still play video games if I have "extra" free time. Last weekend I played 3 hours with my brother who lives too far away to visit easily. It is really about the people you spend time with at this point for me, though.

Making a lan party with your friends and the kids is a wonderful way to spend a weekend. Back when lan parties were a thing anyways.

Bonus is if the kids are old enough they can do most of the work setting it up while you grill and your friend gets more booze!

I can't stand video games these days. Not criticising people who play them but my brain switches off the moment the game is in front of me, even on rainy days. Which is odd because I used to love gaming even to an addict level. The feeling is as though it's a massive waste of my time which won't progress my life at all. Which is weird because I have no problem sitting in a park drinking a beer and doing nothing. Maybe it's a feeling of missing out on my time in the real world? I can't explain it.

That's OK, not everyone is meant to have kids. We are diverse in our goals to fulfil all of the needs of the group. This is thought to be why people are "night owls" or "early birds", each has benefits to a well functioning social structure.

Oh I know there is no doubt in my mind, not having children was the best decision I have ever taken. Imagine having kids and then finding out its not for you... sadly lots of people shouldn't have them but they do.
