Eventually I think the media will just read out straight up false results and just pretend like its real and ban/censor/FBI anyone else saying otherwise.
Iam expecting a tactical nuke in ukraine in the midterms to be suspended, its honestly infuriating how a single political party can cause so much torment to the entire world because of their insane lust for power, and no one is even attempting to stop them.

Theres your problem. Any single article where the theme is "this is why nothing will ever change or be fixed", the media gets brought up. It is brought up again and again, but only as a 'secondary' problem.
When in fact the media is the very heart of the enemy, the core means of their control.

the cheating isn't just at the actual election. in many primaries the votes basically go like the method they are counted. in some states they are counted in public view and that would have vastly different results than states with touch screens.
Even the straw polls, back before it became clear it would show issues to continue them, had huge shenanigans. The iowa one back in the day closed voting at like noon, and didn't release numbers until after most people were gone (not normal); ron paul was on the ballot and "got 2nd".
we have the tech to make it much better than just paper.
paper ballot, goes through scanner, all images public, if there isn't a scan it doesn't exist, if it isn't scanned by xx:xx then it doesn't exist. every new who wants to could set up scikitlearn and do the actual tally themselves. poll watchers can verify the number of ballots that got scanned.
