Youtube was king for so many years because there were enough literates who owned a PC, could operate a video camera, do their own editing and post it on their own account.

Tiktok only does well because it gives video creation to the illiterates, and it just so happens that the same class of people who make up the illiterates are also the twerkers and monkey dancers.
