I think it was a big mistake for musk to provide starlink to Ukraine without providing it to Russia same time to avoid any accusations of taking sides. He could have just claimed he was for open access.

They would have to explain why it's okay for a street shitter to be secure enough relative to national security to entrust Twitter to run, but not a multi billionaire.

Misguided but very directed outrage when it's out in the mainstream tells you everything.

Remember that everyone was grabbing pitchforks when Elon Musk announced he was putting together the deal to buy Twitter? It had nothing to do with the bots, and everything to do with how the market was shaping up. I told people this since Day 1: Musk IS GOING to buy Twitter. With certainty. The goal was to create a way to legally avoid taxes by funneling Tesla stock into other businesses. He could use this as a way to short his own company so that when the stock was less valuable after the impending market correction he could buy the dip and massively make a return on his own stock. Musk basically gave the IRS a big middle finger, and they took out a PR hitjob because they knew he was going to succeed.

I'm 99% certain that Musk knew all about the Twitter botnet before he ever considered buying the company. This whole thing was more or less him trolling the gov sector with the message "I know where you hide your stuff."
