This is called a duck mill (or in more morbid terms, a "circle of death.") The phenomenon is morbid though. When a group of ducks loses the chemical trail they use to follow the main flock, the lost ducks begin to follow one another in a tightly packed circle until they all die from exhaustion

Ants do that too. It's an interesting thing to witness.

I don't own any runner ducks, but I always loved the way they stand up straight like little gentlemen. Especially compared to the ragtag mentally challenged flock I have right now.

My dad had some ducks for a while, but those fuckers have no survival instincts. When they stuck around the chickens, they were fine, but they frequently ventured off on their own. It was always just 2 or 3, sometimes 4 ducks at any given time. They kept getting picked off by coyotes, hawks, and who knows what else. They're friendly little birds and will happily interact with humans, but the farm breeds are basically retarded when it comes to not getting killed.

They're free. They don't want you to know this, but you can take them home with you.

I have 583 ducks

It reminds me of group animation sequences before they figured out how to use ai to make the individual characters act independently

I like ducks. I’ve had a few dozen. They have personality. That’s why I can’t eat one.
