These updates will restrict the People’s Republic of China’s (PRC’s) ability to both purchase and manufacture certain high-end chips used in military applications and build on prior policies, company-specific actions, and less public regulatory, legal, and enforcement actions taken by BIS.

That doesn't sound like "China's entire semiconductor industry."

Maybe if you actually RTFA, you'd see that that isn't the sole target. It includes RAM, CPUs, flash memory.

What you just did is the news media equivalent of framing a photo so things look different than they are.

Next time, read the whole thing.

But in case you lack that comprehension, this might help: https://www.benzinga.com/government/22/10/29273679/chinas-semiconductor-industry-decapitated-overnight-what-annihilation-looks-like

I did read it. And it suggests that it's these areas that are being used for our military equipment.

Your link above just looks like clickbait fear posting.

China's economy isn't going to be crippled simply because the US stops buying their chips. And, certainly not if the chips in question are limited to those chips being made for our military equipment.

May I suggest a remedial reading comprehension class at your local community college? They're usually free.

So, if you read the Bull, Base, and Bear case scenarios for these 2 companies, directly affected by this "ban", worst case scenario is that these companies don't make record profits.

The ban is a joke. It isn't going to hurt China. This is like saying the oil embargo is hurting Russia while our gas prices begin spiking. It isn't China waiting for computer chips so that they can sell new cars.

We should have never used Chinese chips in our military equipment, so it's good that we are going to stop, bit to suggest that China will be harmed by this action is laughable.

I love how you're still ignoring the part where it's not just military equipment.

And I love how you think this harms anyone but Americans that will now have to pay more for less.

I love how you're putting words in my mouth. JFC, do you have all the jew playbook patterns memorized or something?

Biden has shut down China's entire semi-conductor industry. China's economy is about to completely collapse

These aren't your words?

Reading comprehension is something don't have any of. You should stop before you hurt yourself.

Thanks for playing though!

One round of sanctions from Biden did more damage than all four years of performative sanctioning under Trump

When your article contains shit like this, don't you side eye the sauce?

I wonder how they will actual restrict this and what they will restrict.

Maybe those Japanese machines that make chips that apparently everyone used.

Does this include Tesla's being built in China?
