Like everything they do, that's projection. They don't trust themselves with guns and so they don't trust anyone else with guns. Since, in their view, everyone is the same, this makes warped sense. However, we all know reality and so it doesn't make sense to us.

Not just cowardly: lazy and self-entitled, too.
All it would take is to move to someplace with laws and a socio-political environment that suits them, but that would be too much effort, so they instead demand that everyone else change everything about the system to accommodate them.
Perhaps I'm giving them too much credit; are progressives even capable of experiencing happiness, or are they trapped in an eternal struggle against their projected misery?

I think the ancient Greek had it right: once every year, they could vote to evict someone from the community (ostracization.)
Imagine the townsfolk telling some carpetbagging Californian to pack their bags and get lost.

So basically only highly organized events remain?

I guess that wouldn't save us from Sandy Hook, the Vegas shooting, Timothy McVeigh, the Pulse nightclub, or Uvalde.
