Interesting. Why do people NEED social media, though?
Why do we HAVE to have this so much? It's weird, these things did not exist 10 years ago, and we did not get in a funk about it.
It's almost like it is all contrived - look over here, don't worry about what is happening over there. just ignore that - look TWITTER censorship! Gab better! Ignore your rights. Ignore your economy. ignore your debt slavery. ignore food prices. Gab! twitter! Facebook! REEE!
Grow food, prepare your pantry, learn to shoot, learn to sew, learn basic plumbing, construction, hunting, fishing. Talk about your rights. Know them. Exercise them or you will lose them. If you lost power for a week, what would you do? Do you have water? Heat? Fuel? Food?
Even if you never need it, the act of becoming prepared in and of itself is good for you. it focuses you on what really matters - family, friends, home, life.
This is the boomer tier denial of reality that got us to this point where the left dominates every sphere of politics and societal ongoing, meanwhile everyone else who should be resisting them is just pretending the internet is just going to go away some day
I hate social media, but it would have been a fuck of a lot better if the people who see it for what it is took action years ago. Regulations, shunning the attention whores, etc.
Instead, they played exactly this game. "I'm just going to put my head in the sand and pretend it doesn't exist"
There were a lot of people who wouldn't adopt electricity or cars or whatever other innovation. They aren't the ones running society.
that got us to this point where the left dominates every sphere of politics and societal ongoing
Talk about an epic level denial of reality. The left does NOT dominate every sphere of politics. They dominate the MEDIA. Do you even talk.lol and not understand the whole point of the JQ is that they control the media? Yet your suggestion is to USE the media they control against them? you really think that they will allow that to happen?
Regulations, shunning the attention whores, etc.
Who exactly should do this? You want to regulate free speech? What regulations would you like to instill? You can't legislate positive actions, you can only restrict actions. (Example, you can't legislate me to DO something, you can only legislate something i CAN'T do. inb4 "mandatory insurance" - courts killing that or it refers to restricting another activity unless you do x,y,or z. it still goes back to restricting actions.) So, how does one legislate or regulate social media? The only way is to declare it equivalent to a traditional public forum, and that would require courts to rule on. And even then, it would require monopoly power. Which means that gab growing is taking away that argument that twitter is so ubiquitous that it would be a traditional public forum.
"I'm just going to put my head in the sand and pretend it doesn't exist"
Constipated thinking and a strawman. Questioning why you do not NEED something to survive and pretending it doesn't exist are two different things, yet you chose to claim they are the same. Why?
There were a lot of people who wouldn't adopt electricity or cars or whatever other innovation. They aren't the ones running society.
Non-sequitor, but i would wager those people are a lot happier and live more fulfilling lives than those who did. See "Amish". See "homesteaders." See "homeschoolers." I also dont see how knowing the newest dance or knowing which minor celebrity pooped on which minor celebrity's bed makes you more aware of "society", it just makes you more aware of pop culture.
I wish you would have addressed my question as to why we NEED social media, rather than just slamming my post using non-sequitors, strawmen, and ad hominems. But you do you, pal.
Actually social media has been around for about 30 years. Well actually longer since the '80s. They were bulletin board systems called bbs's that you dialed up and they were very active and they basically were social media bulletin boards that you could post to and listen to and read from. Then there were things like Yahoo groups which were a very big deal and disseminated huge amounts of information and were very important in the 2000 election of George W bush and even earlier if I recall correctly. And they kind of went by the wayside as website based things specifically reddit took off. So the fact is these things have been around since at least the late 80s early 90s. And before then of course there were newspapers and letters to the editor. Obviously they were much more restricted but that was what their function was back when all the newspapers weren't owned by two or three companies censoring everything.
Yeah, I know about BBS's, newsgroups, early website based internet platforms like Prodigy and Compuserve (which spawned AOL, pleasde kill me), followed by actual website based interactions like the aforementioned Yahoo! groups, and even early forums like About.com or Delphi. I lived it. Still some good forums out there, niche, for products and activities - woodworking forums, DIY, Jeep modifications, tool and die, boating maintenance, etc.
So, I guess it's a fair point that social media existed more than 10 years ago in early forms. I would state that the change I am mentioning is more based on the use of the smartphone, and the mobility and constant connection to socvial media at all points in the day, not just when you have everyone in the house not using the landline and you can dial in without someone in the home picking up the receiver and dropping your connection.
At that point, social media took on a whole new level of invasiveness and ubiquity. I suppose I would clarify and restate my contention with that caveat - Social media as an ubiquitous and invasive medium - thanks to your correct summary of events.
Didn't you just show the need for social media sites to spread information by posting the following?
"Grow food, prepare your pantry, learn to shoot, learn to sew, learn basic plumbing, construction, hunting, fishing. Talk about your rights. Know them. Exercise them or you will lose them. If you lost power for a week, what would you do? Do you have water? Heat? Fuel? Food?
Even if you never need it, the act of becoming prepared in and of itself is good for you. it focuses you on what really matters - family, friends, home, life."
By giving advice, or finding that advice? because I have hard copies of these items. They are generally available for 41 or less at any discount book store, and they are available in droves.
I agree it is strange. But I don't think they're lying about the numbers. I don't really know why you only see the same few people in response. I don't know if it's an algorithmic failure or a lack of followers or a lack of specific followings. But quite frankly I experience the same thing on twitter. They were really 20 or 30 people who always responded to things or were in my particular viewing circle even though I followed thousands and supposedly had thousands of followers and supposedly Twitter had millions of people.

Seems to be a limited audience here and of course Twitter and reddit etc completely censor.
And now Poal is censoring like crazy.
And apparently gab is letting hansome truth have an account so they must actually allow people to name the Jew.
And frankly it's all about the Jews and if you can't say that then you are just wasting your time.
