Saw this for the first time as a kid probably around 9? They pulled us on stage. It was a weird feeling of wanting to cry and laugh and as the guy got closer my sister and I and along with another girl just broke out laughing and then as he was yelling that this was just the devil being scared it became even funnier.

Then he smacked me on the forehead which of course throws a person back and startles you. But then I saw him do it to my sister and all the laughter came back.

I personally am unsure about this, I doubt the sincerity. Hyper-charismatics working without order is one way to stumble onlookers in my opinion, be it real or not.

I would reserve the more dramatic displays of prayer to a smaller, more private group, not videoed with whatever intent in mind, but focusing on the word and the Spirit.

I've actually attended something like this. From my experience it was a form of hypnosis. I lost my balance and was seen to the floor, where I stayed for a minute wondering if I had a spiritual experience. Nothing changed in my life, so that's certainly an indication that it's bullshit. The denomination was catholic. My mother use to take us to a lot of the fringe Catholic things. We would often go to Conyers GA on the 13th of the month, where the virgin mother was said to appear. I've seen many photos of anomalies, head many stories of tin turning to gold, and was present in a crowd of 80000 when many people "saw the sun dance". I don't stare at the sun, so I don't know what happened. I don't know there's a collective energy when you get that many people together focused on the same thing. There is power in that. I don't think it's dogmatic, but it's definitely real.
